Spring Newsletter 2017

Spring Newsletter

Happy Easter everyone! It’s been a wonderful term and the young people have been growing with confidence and producing some great work.

Now all that is left to say is practise, practise, practise.  I can’t stress enough that in the run up to the exam it is really important that young people are regularly practising their pieces.

Pieces have been picked but if the students are going to be successful in July it will largely be down to how much work they put in at this stage.

The exam is scheduled for the 14th July at the De Grey rooms workshop 2 where young people have been rehearsing.  It has been great to see how young people have been taking more risks and been willing to try new things.  I attach a personal information form for parents/guardians to fill out and bring to the session after Easter.  One of the things we like to do is to take pictures that we can put in the newsletters or on the Facebook coaching page but I will need consent from parents/ guardians to do this.  If you and your child are enjoying the classes then please do like the coaching page Nurturetalentuk

It’s been lovely having the new Musical Theatre group which started at the beginning of this term.  It’s growing from strength to strength. Young people have started to make decisions on what they would like to sing for their exams and it is really important that just like the acting exams, they pick something they enjoy performing.  The holidays are a great time to entertain family and friends with the things your children have been learning.  Good clear and projected speech is important in performance so do encourage young people with this.  It is helpful to get them to perform at one side of the room and to have the audience a fair distance away to check this.

I am aware that there are a few people who will not be in York on the 14th July for the exam and we will have a chat about the possibility of your child sitting their exam at a public centre.  I will confirm details of this with parents/ guardians after Easter.
