Frances began her training at the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain. Following her time there she embarked on a 3-year rigorous drama training at the Webber Douglas Academy in London. Frances Qualified with the Acting Academy Diploma with Distinction. On completing her diploma, Frances attended the Arts Educational School and received a 2:1 BA Honours in Acting. Professional work after training included featuring in BBC Drama series Casualty, BBC Final Demand and in regional theatre. A National Theatre tour brought her to York, and it was at this point, early on in her career, that she realised raising her daughter was the most important role for her and hung up her professional acting hat. Frances is now an established teacher of the internationally recognised LAMDA exams whose young people receive enviably outstanding results in the exam centres she leads. She is founder of Nurture Talent and uses her pastoral skills to nurture talent in York and beyond.
On completion of his degree in Drama (Bretton Hall College, 2.1) John moved to London where he was an actor for ten years. His acting credits include two seasons at the National Theatre, numerous mid-scale theatre tours and a year as a central character in 'Emmerdale' (58 episodes). In 2002 he took a career change and trained to be a teacher of Drama. He has worked as Head of Department in schools in London for 18 years and is currently working in a school in York. He has directed many school productions, including several which he has adapted himself from european folk tales. John is also a founding member of The Social Library, a digital forum which forges links between the arts, mental health issues and the 'big questions' of the day.
